BLOG UPDATE - 13/12/10

Today I completed my webpage; obviously minus our finished video. I am happy with my webpage, and feel that it presents a strong sense of brand identity, as shown through the clear, and consistent patterns in the layout of the page. I think that my webpage has a clean cut layout, and is aesthetically pleasing. I think that the black background contrasts well with the grey and white, and makes the writing stand out, and the grey lines make the page neater and more striking; highlighting all the important parts on the page. I also think that the use of the same font, and font of the same size reinstates the clear brand identity. I feel that my page has a sufficient amount of information and videos; I think that the tour dates keep the webpage up to date, and the track list informs fans of whats on the current album. The NME Video makes the webpage more personal to the fans, as it gives an insight into what the band are like offstage, when they are relaxed. I think that my webpage layout clearly highlights the elements of the page your are meant to look at, by the size they are, and where they have been placed on the page, for example, the main, most important feature on the page is the 'I'm a Liar' video/track (youtube clip placed as a marker), so i decided to place it in the top left hand corner, and I also decided to make it the largest feature on the webpage; this way, the key part of my website is effectively highlighted.

Conventions of a CD/Digipak

Conventions of a CD/Digipak are;

- Spine (Name of Band and Single)

- Title/ Banner like on the Cover

- CD Inside

- Colour Scheme

- Track List

- Insert

- Images

- Barcode

Initial Ideas - CD/Digipak

- Lines and Borders

- Consistent Colour Scheme; Black, White, Grey,(Silver)

- Same font used on Webpage

- Guitar/Instrument Close up; stills from the music video

- Merging the picture used in the banner with a still of a close up of the instruments

- Pictures of the tramp

- Using a still; the shot where the tramp is out of focus reaching for the ipod, and the ipod and headphones are still in focus

- Use of black and white; maybe putting the close up in this

- Crop the shot, so you can just see the hand reaching for the ipod

- Maybe put the ipod in colour, and the rest of the shot in black and white

- Spine of the CD; Name of band and single

- Track list on back in a basic, simple font used on my Webpage (Futura) on back of CD; any other writing to be in this font also

- Other CD, containing a 'Making of' the music video, or an interview.

- Images on the insert; maybe lyrics from the song written over the insert
