BLOG UPDATE - 5/1/11 - Class Feedback

Today we continued on with our editing, experimenting with the colour saturation and putting our shots into black and white; and also trying out various to effects and filters. We want our video to begin all in black and white, and then when the chorus kicks in, we plan on boosting the colour; to suggest that the music injects life into the video. We want to refine our video, and go through it picking out errors and making sure that the shots are well timed and coherent with the music; utilising musicality, and making the video flow in a smoother way.

We also received some feedback from other groups, giving their opinions on our videos so far;

- 'The black and white is a good effect, it makes the detail stand out more and has greater impact. But, some shots (outdoors) may be to light for the black and white.'
We are still yet to play around with the black and white footage and colouring, and the colour saturation in general, so we will assess what shots don't look as aesthetically pleasing as other ones; and with this feedback, will focus on the outdoor shots and their quality specifically.

- 'It goes from having no children in the shot, to loads, (like they just appear out of nowhere).'
We weren't aware of this, because obviously we knew what was going on with the story and how the children 'appeared'. We have filmed the children coming out of the school, but haven't yet uploaded the footage due to it being on the small camcorders; which happen to be a little bit of an inconvenience. So this error can be rectified if we upload the other footage, but we feel that we may be able to correct it without uploading more footage.
